Being a volunteer for the Humane Society of Florida can be a very rewarding experience.  Some people love animals but cannot own one of their own, others have pets and also have free time and want to make a difference in the life of an animal that has none.  We have several areas in which we need volunteers, possibly you can find it in your heart to give up a few hours a week to work with us and have the joy of watching life come into the eyes of one who had no hope.  Spend a day with us and see where you fit in.  Or if you have an area of expertise please read the list below to see where we need volunteers.

If you like horses we need:

1.  Experienced riders to work with the rideable horses we have.

2.  People to spend time brushing and tending to the horses.

If you like dogs we need:

1.  Experienced trainers.

2.  Dog walkers.

3.  Groomers.

4.  People who are interested in working one day a week helping with adoptions.

If you like cats we need:

1.  People to help with the cat room.

2.  People to just play with the cats and give them attention.

3.  People to help with the adoptions.

In the administrative area we need:

1.  Grant Writers.

2.  Volunteers to work in office.

3.  People to organize fundraisers

In the general area we need:

1.  Handymen

2.  Fence Builders

3.  Painters

If you need community hours we can provide work for you.
